Bridge Project Manager, we'll count on you to:
- Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium
single-discipline engineering projects or large, routine
projects.
- Foster and develop client relationships for yourself and your
staff.
- Independently coordinate the work of engineers and balance the
planning team throughout the entire project's development.
- Establish client relations and be involved with marketing,
contractual, design, and production meetings.
- Track the financial aspects of projects and coordinate or
adjust work efforts with the team to ensure that work is completed
within the agreed-to-schedule parameters.
- Collaborate with peers and team members to create a cohesive
practice.
- Perform complex structural planning, analysis, and design for
all structural aspects of transportation projects to ensure the
completion of documents on schedule.
- Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate
girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable-stayed), box
culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway
projects.
- Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop
structural details using specialized structural design and analysis
software, perform structural load calculations, and assist with
geometric layout and quantity development.
- Review, assign work, and/or check design calculations,
estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and
EITs.
- Mentor younger staff and support continued development.
- Perform other duties as needed.Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering.
- PMP certification.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, AutoCAD,
MathCAD, LARSA.
- Experience mentoring junior staff.
- Proficiency with seismic design and detailing of bridges.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team
environment.
- 10 years of Caltrans Bridge Design Experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills, and
ability to work with various teams.
- Prestress Concrete Design.
- Strong organizational, listening, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design
software.Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 7 years related experience.
- A minimum of 2 years project management experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access
experience would be a plus).
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
